Frequently asked questions
Everything about ordering, sizing, easy-access features, returns and more. Written for patients and caregivers — clear, honest, and quick to find.
Ordering & Shipping
Getting your order to you — on time, especially around a surgery date.
How long does standard shipping take?
Standard shipping takes 3–5 business days. Orders don't ship on weekends, so an order placed Friday–Sunday begins processing the next business day.
Do you offer expedited shipping?
Yes. Expedited orders are processed in about 1 business day, then ship 2-day — so most arrive within ~3 business days of ordering. You can choose expedited at checkout if you're up against a surgery date.
I have a surgery date coming up — when should I order?
We recommend ordering 5–7 days before your surgery so everything arrives, gets washed, and can be tried on with time to spare. Most patients tell us they wish they'd ordered a little sooner rather than later.
Is shipping free?
Shipping is free on orders over $100. Under that, a flat rate is calculated at checkout. Kits and bundles usually clear the free-shipping threshold on their own.
Can I ship directly to a hospital or to someone else?
Yes. Enter the recipient's address (home, hospital, or care facility) at checkout. For gifts, you can add a note on the packing slip and we'll keep prices off the slip.
Do you ship internationally?
We currently ship within the United States. If you're outside the U.S. and need recovery wear, email us — we'll let you know what's possible.
Sizing & Fit
How our garments are cut for recovery — and what to do if the fit isn't right.
What size should I order?
Order your usual everyday size. Every piece is already cut for swelling, dressings, and drains — you don't need to size up. Each product page has a size chart with measurements if you'd like to double-check.
What if the size isn't right?
Size exchanges are free, both ways, within 30 days. Recovery is unpredictable, so we make swaps easy — no forms, no restocking fees.
Will these fit around swelling, dressings, or a surgical bra?
Yes — that's exactly what they're designed for. Our garments have extra room and stretch built in to sit comfortably over dressings, a surgical bra, or post-op swelling without feeling tight on a healing area.
Product & Fabric Care
What our clothing is made of and how to keep it soft, wash after wash.
What are the garments made of?
Mostly soft modal and cotton blends chosen for post-surgical skin — no rough seams, no tight bands, nothing that presses on a healing incision. Exact fabric content is listed on each product page.
How do I wash and care for them?
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low, or lay flat to dry. Skip fabric softener and bleach — they break down the soft finish. Snaps and zippers hold up fine in the wash; just fasten them first.
Are the fabrics safe for sensitive or healing skin?
We select breathable, low-irritation fabrics with flat or covered seams so nothing rubs a tender area. If you have a specific sensitivity or allergy, email us and we'll point you to the gentlest options.
Easy-Access Features
Drains, ports, and easy access — the details that make dressing possible during recovery.
How do the drain pockets work?
Select garments have internal drain pockets that hold surgical drain bulbs (like JP drains) securely against the body — hands-free and invisible from the outside. No pinning to your shirt, no safety-pin improvising.
Which pieces open without lifting my arms?
Our front-close and shoulder-snap styles open completely at the front or shoulder, so you can dress without raising your arms — important in the 4–6 weeks many patients are told to avoid overhead movement. Look for "front-close" or "shoulder-snap" on the product page.
Do you have pieces with port or chemo access?
Yes. Certain tops feature discreet chest-port and IV access openings so infusions and port checks happen without undressing. These are noted on the product page and grouped in our chemo and infusion collections.
Are these garments actually designed for recovery, or just loose clothing?
They're genuinely purpose-built. Drain pockets, front and shoulder closures, port access, and no-lift dressing are built in by design — developed with surgeons, nurses, and patients — not loose basics relabeled for recovery.
Returns & Guarantee
Our comfort guarantee, and how returns work if something doesn't fit your recovery.
What is your comfort guarantee, and how do returns work?
Every order is backed by a 30-day comfort guarantee. Size exchanges are always free, both ways — if the fit isn't right, we'll swap it at no cost. For a refund return, a small restocking fee applies to cover return shipping and warehouse handling; the rest of your order total is refunded. You have 30 days, and there are no forms to fill out — just reach out.
How do I start a return or exchange?
Email hello@inspiredcomforts.com or use the contact page with your order number and we'll take it from there. For a size exchange we'll get the new size on its way — no cost to you. For a refund return we'll walk you through it; a small restocking fee covers return shipping and warehouse handling, and the rest is refunded.
My surgery date moved — can I still return?
Absolutely. Plans change and dates move — that's exactly why the guarantee exists. Reach out and we'll make it right, even if timing pushed you past the usual window.
Gifts & Gift Cards
Sending comfort to someone in recovery, and gift cards when you're not sure what to pick.
Can I send an order as a gift?
Yes — and it's one of the most meaningful things you can send someone in recovery. Add a personal note at checkout, ship straight to them, and we keep prices off the packing slip. Our gift kits are curated so you don't have to guess.
What if I don't know their size?
A gift card is the easy answer — they choose exactly what fits their recovery, and sizes match everyday sizing so it's low-stress. You can also send a kit and note that free 30-day size exchanges are included, so they can swap without any awkwardness.
How do gift cards work?
Gift cards are delivered by email and never expire. The recipient enters the code at checkout and can put it toward anything on the site, including bundles and shipping.
Bundles & Discounts
Build a kit and save — the more pieces, the bigger the discount.
How do the bundle discounts work?
Mix and match any pieces and the discount grows with your kit: 3 pieces = 12% off, and 4 or more pieces = 15% off. The discount applies automatically in your cart — no code needed.
Can I build my own bundle?
Yes. Use the Build Your Own option to combine any pieces you like and the 3-for-12% / 4-for-15% discount applies automatically once you hit the thresholds. Same fabrics, same guarantee.
Can bundle discounts be combined with other offers?
The 3-for-12% / 4-for-15% bundle discount applies on its own and generally can't be stacked with other promo codes. Gift cards are always welcome on top of any bundle.
HSA / FSA
Using health-spending funds for recovery wear.
Are your products HSA/FSA eligible?
Most of our products are everyday recovery apparel and are not HSA/FSA eligible. Certain post-mastectomy items may qualify as medical products — please check directly with your HSA or FSA provider, since eligibility depends entirely on your plan.
Can you provide an itemized receipt?
Yes — we're happy to email an itemized receipt for your records. Whether it can be used toward an HSA/FSA claim is determined by your plan and provider, not by us.
