About Fresenius Kidney Care & their patient support [Draft — pending Fresenius Kidney Care approval]
Caring for the whole you.
Fresenius Kidney Care is the patient-facing dialysis network of Fresenius Medical Care in North America, serving more than 190,000 patients across over 2,600 centers nationwide. Its stated approach is caring for the whole you — supporting people with chronic and end-stage kidney disease to lead fuller, more active lives, not just delivering treatment. Alongside in-center and home dialysis, Fresenius Kidney Care offers education and support programs, including:
- Kidney disease education class — a free program on kidney health and treatment choices
- Thrive Central & Kidney Care Community — practical tips and an online forum for life with CKD
- Social work & Kidney Care Advocates — in-center support for daily life on dialysis
- Patient travel services & PatientHub — help staying on treatment and tracking your care

What dialysis days ask of you
Long sessions. Cold rooms. An arm that has to stay reachable.
In-center hemodialysis usually means three sessions a week, around four hours in the chair each time — hundreds of hours over a year. Filtering your blood can leave you feeling cold, and treatment rooms are kept cool on top of that. Your access — a fistula or graft in the arm, or a chest catheter — has to stay reachable the whole time, which often means pushing up a sleeve, undressing, or sitting with the arm bare in a cold room. Regular clothes were not made for any of that. That is the gap we set out to close.

Made for dialysis days
Access without undressing
Openings sit at the fistula, graft, or chest catheter, so the care team reaches the site and you keep the rest of your clothes on.
Warmth for the hours
Sessions are long and rooms run cool. These layers hold warmth while leaving the access point free.
Zips and snaps that behave
Two-way zips and full-length snaps open only as far as needed and close back up cleanly — built for repeat use.
Everyday clothes
Nothing that looks clinical. Shirts and hoodies you would wear anywhere, that happen to work in the chair.

Why we are sharing Inspired Comforts with people on dialysis
A resource, not a paid endorsement.
We make everyday clothing that opens at the access site, so getting dressed for a session stops being a problem to solve three times a week. We built this page so a care team, a social worker, or a family member has one simple place to point someone who is asking, what should I wear to dialysis? [Draft — pending Fresenius Kidney Care approval]
Inspired Comforts is an independent company. Sharing this page is not a paid endorsement, and Fresenius Kidney Care does not sell or profit from these products. It is here as a practical comfort resource — nothing more.
- Access-friendly clothing is not something a center supplies — this fills that specific gap.
- Everything is designed to look like ordinary clothes, not medical wear.
- A 15% patient code and a free-kit option keep it reachable when budgets are tight.
- For any question about your treatment or access site, your Fresenius Kidney Care team comes first.
Voices from people on dialysis
What our customers tell us.
These are verified reviews from Inspired Comforts customers who are on dialysis — our own customers, in their own words. They are not Fresenius Kidney Care patients, and they are not an endorsement by Fresenius Kidney Care.
“I had been managing with cut-off sleeves and extra blankets for months. The sweater with the sleeve zip changed every session for me.”
“Nothing presses on my abdomen. The soft waistband and zip-front top mean I can stay comfortable around the PD catheter all day, not just at exchanges.”
“The hoodie packs flat and does not wrinkle. It looks like a regular sweater in business casual. Nobody asks questions.”

For the things a center does not provide
Your center runs the sessions, monitors your labs, and manages your care plan. Access-friendly clothing is not part of what a dialysis center supplies — and a regular shirt means cold sessions and awkward undressing, three times a week. This page exists so your care team has somewhere to send you for that missing piece.
