NothingPink's mission is to advance education, awareness, and support of genetic testing for hereditary breast and gynecological cancers, serving individuals and families across North Carolina and South Carolina. The organization was founded in 2015 by Kelly Kashmer, who was diagnosed with Stage II triple-negative breast cancer at 31 — two weeks after learning she carried a BRCA2 mutation. Genetic testing saved her life, and NothingPink exists so others can know their risk and act on it early.
Support here is personal and practical: support groups where previvors and survivors talk with people who understand, guidance on genetic counseling and testing, surgical care packages of more than 30 items curated by women who have been through breast or GYN surgery, post-surgical meals, and treatment planners that keep the details in one place — with team members like Patient Navigator Rachel Simpkins and Director of Operations Carrie Williams who know this path personally.
